Designing the cover for CSU Channel Islands university catalog cover to be used in the 2023 - 2024 school course catalog and related merchandise for the student art gallery.
The illustration ties the natural and built elements of the campus together. seen throughout the school. the tiled illustration weaves three animals into the background that are found on or near campus, the mountain lion, owl, and coopers hawk. in the center of the design, Bell Tower, one of the schools most iconic buildings is featured and the students' movements blend into both the building and the enviornment.
The red color comes from the school colors and Spanish architecture that is featured in most all of the buildings. The blues come from the clear California skies and the school’s proximity to the ocean. The oranges are taken from the iconic rolling yellow rolling hills that are found around the campus and up and down the surrounding coastline.
Bonus Fact: Hidden in the tiled design are the letters "CSUCI", see if you can spot them.
